Recycling Info
Pacific Topsoils, Inc. recycles all types of yard and garden waste. From trees and shrubs to dirt and rock. Even torn up sidewalk (in small chunks) can be recycled at most locations.
Our recycling fees are often less than other waste options, and 100% of our materials are re-used in some way. Plant matter becomes compost, rock and concrete get crushed and re-used as gravel (ferrous materials are extracted and recycled), and tree trunks and large limbs are ground up into wood chips for various uses.
Not all products are accepted at all locations. Please review by location the list of acceptable and unacceptable materials as well as rules of conduct at our recycling facilities.
Benefits of Recycling
We are proud of the amount of material we helped recycle over the years. Instead of ending up in landfills, we have recycled hundreds of thousands of cubic yards of material into usable landscape products for your home and garden. In 2020 alone, we recycled over 425,000 cubic yards of material, 100% recycled. That amounts to:
Rules of Conduct
Cannot Accept Composting Yard Waste
Yard waste that has begun composting generates odors detrimental to the surrounding community. Please delivery only fresh yard waste. Yard waste that has begun to decompose cannot be accepted and will be turned away.
Cover Loads
Cover all loads of material during transportation to and from our facilities. This will help keep the surrounding streets clean, reduce dust and deposits on neighboring properties. Driving with an uncovered or unsecured load is unsafe and makes you liable for a traffic violation. If anything can fall out of your moving vehicle it is illegal.
Please Shut Off Your Engine
Please shut off your engine when loading, unloading or conducting business. Your cooperation in noise reduction helps this facility operate compatibly with the homes and the residential community nearby. This policy also helps reduce air pollution in our environment. For every 10 minutes your vehicle is turned off you prevent the release of one pound of carbon dioxide.
Clean Soil Acceptance Policy
Pacific Topsoils only accepts clean soil (as defined in WAC 173-350), free of contaminates that exceed cleanup levels, and does not contain radioactive waste, dangerous or extremely hazardous waste (as defined by WAC 173-340), petroleum or it’s by products, soil removed as part of any clean-up action, demolition waste or any other solid waste. To dispose of soil at any of our locations you will need to have a Clean Soil Acceptance Agreement on file. Forms are available at the disposal location or can be submitted online by clicking the link under the Customer Resources section of our website.
